Ode to Women

I hope you look in the mirror and celebrate yourself. I hope you shake your hair, turn on the music and watch yourself dance—I hope you see the curves of your hips as glorious and each scar as an untold story. I hope you understand that another's beauty doesn't make you any less beautiful. That your sisters are your girls. That you don't have to compete with anyone as if they're the enemy but compete with yourself. I hope you know the strength you have. The power. That you are warm and stubborn and optimistic and a bright light for the world—because with a touch, you comfort, you love. With a look, you invite. With your body, you grow life. You grow life.
